Compaq RAM

by Joe Stevenson

For the past five years I have owned a Compaq desktop computer that I use on a daily basis. I utilize the computer to download and listen to music and to store all of my music files. Another program that I used on a daily basis was for my business. I relied upon my computer for invoicing and keeping track of all of my business contacts. I also use my computer to navigate the internet every day so I needed it to run quickly and efficiently every time that I need it.

I have had a few small problems with my Compaq computer. Every time that a problem occurred, I contacted Compaq support for assistance. The first problem that I encountered was that my computer was not recognizing the new printer that I had purchased. I followed the direction that came with the printer for installations, but I kept getting an error message that the computer was not recognizing the printer.

The Compaq support desk was happy to help me with my problem. The operator walked me through the set-up process step by step and did not hang up the phone until I had successfully printed something.

About a year later I noticed that my computer began to run sluggishly. Every time that I loaded a program it seemed to take twice the amount of time that it had taken before. I was worried that there was something seriously wrong with my computer and that the entire system might crash.

I contacted Compaq support once again to assist me with this problem. I explained the problem and the operator informed me that there were a number of things that could be causing my computer to run slowly, but she suspected that my computer might be running out of Compaq RAM, which is the random access memory within the computer.

The support team operator told me how to look up the memory space on my computer and to see how many MBs I had left. I had almost used up all of the memory that my computer had initially come with.

Then she suggested that I look into purchasing Compaq RAM upgrades for my computer. She assured me that these upgrades would boost my existing memory and the entire procedure was minimally invasive and that I would be able to perform the installation by myself.

When the Compaq RAM arrived at my house I installed it by following the detailed instructions that came with it in less than ten minutes.

Dell 1710 - More Than Enough Memory To Handle The Job

The Dell 1710 is a well appointed printer, offering workgroup performance in a cost effective way. It is one of the most solid and compact printers available today, boasting great print speeds and a space saving size and design. It is a good and reliable solution for home users and those who want to produce texts and graphics of good quality for their small offices. Also take a look at Dell 1710 Toner.

Dell 1710 Printer is a durable and effective monochrome laser printer that produces really fast jobs; according to the specifications and tests, the 1710 can easily print 26 pages per minute, although the speed is seriously enhanced once the memory is upgraded. The original and standard model comes with 16MB of internal memory, which is expandable up to 144MB with a memory card.

The Dell 1710 can deliver texts with crisp and clear details. All documents are sharp and absolutely readable, almost flawless. This comes as no surprise, as the Dell 1710 prints in 1200×1200 resolution. The printer is made so as to enable high printing volumes, meeting the needs and requirements of home users and small businesses.

The Dell 1710 comes with a great monthly cycle of 15000 pages. In fact whether you opt for the standard model or the newer and upgraded one, you will get the 15000 pages per month capacity. The paper capacity is also great; both models come with a 800 sheet paper capacity. The Dell 1710 Toner cartridge is good for approximately 3000 pages, although Dell consumers have the chance to change it later for a bigger one, good for 6000 pages or more.

The 1710 can print high quality texts, which are both crisp and sharp. Images and graphics are also very good, with a little banding in high resolution pictures. As, though, most of the users will not use it for something more than typical graphics and small scale image jobs, this is a rather trivial issue. Smaller graphics are enhanced, printed in the highest (1200×1200dpi) resolution.

Especially if you go for the recycling program, Dell offers really cost effective cartridges. The new drum will cost almost 30$ less than the original one, if you decide to use the Use and Return offer.

The Dell 1710 is a 25 pages per minute printer. As it prints in 1200×1200 dpi resolution, the printer produces texts of great quality, very crisp and clear. The graphics are also quite good, with minimum banding. Photos are printed in a newspaper quality, which is not a big issue though, since few people would actually use a monochrome printer for holiday’s pictures and something more than newsletter graphics.

The Dell Printer is a great value for money; this is something you should keep in mind when deciding what to buy, because there is no reason to go for a more expensive printer, if you just want an effective tool for texts and small images. Even the 1710 Toner is worth looking at. The 1710 is a reliable solution for home users and small offices. For more information, check out our site http://www.qtoner.us.

Dell 2135 Printer - A Printer That Will Never Stress You Out

If you’re homing in on the Dell 2135 printer as your home-based business printer of choice, you’ve probably made a good decision. Priced at just 600 dollars, the unit comes standard with the 2135 Toner, and it’s a fairly simple color laser printer to use. Those cartridges come in monochrome and color, by the way, and they’re widespread and easy to order through Dell’s online site. There’s not much for the entrepreneur to worry about when purchasing this machine.

Printing Output. Dell 2135 printing output is good at 16ppm in black and white, and up to 12 ppm for color documents.

Printing Quality. Given its price, the Dell delivers 600dpi, which is more than acceptable for just about any small business print job. If creating fine documents like resumes and such is what might be needed, then perhaps a more upscale printer would be called for. Still, in everyday business use, this Dell will work nicely.

Ease of Installation. Like every other 2135 Printer, it’s extremely easy to get up and running and to hook up to either a single computer or to a small network server. USB 2.0 and 10/100 Ethernet are the interface ports of choice for the Dell 2135. Given that most home or small office business won’t have a dedicated IT staff to handle installation, the 2135 guides you along as you hook up various cables and start up the installed software.

Printing Capabilities. The Dell 2135 has a rated printing cycle of about 40,000 pages per month, which is a rate not likely to be reached by the typical home-based business entrepreneur on a regular basis. This can make its costs of ownership attractive, given our budget-constrained current environment.

Versatility. As an “all-in-one” printer, copier, scanner and fax machine, the Dell 2135 can put out color pages when required, and then scan them or fax them to others. This only increases its attractiveness to the home business market segment.

Don’t Forget. At about 250 sheets of paper in its standard tray, the Dell might need slightly more frequent re-stock. But, because it’s an all-in-one machine, it should prove adequate. Also, you get 24/7 on-site coverage for 1 year in the event of an issue, with 4 more years for a slight fee.

Laser Toners. The Dell 2135 toner cartridge puts out about 2500 black and white documents or 1000 color pages. For a unit in this segment, that’s pretty good. It also doesn’t cost a great deal of money, so you won’t freak out when reorder time rolls around.

Wrapping Up. Put together, the 2135 Printer and the 2135 Toner can help out a home business hemmed in by budget constraints. With a list price of about 600 dollars, easy installation features and cartridges that don’t cost an arm and a leg, the Dell 2135 printer could be the smart choice at a smart time for a smart buyer. Adware Removal - Free Progams Or Your Computer Repairer?

Boot sector virus removal can be a tricky business as these are some of the most evil and difficult kinds of viruses.

They lodge in your boot sector, the part of your computer that is responsible for loading or “booting” the rest of it, so that as soon as your computer is turned on, the virus is already loaded into memory. This can be a big problem, because a cleverly designed boot sector virus can convince your computer that there is no virus at all when it loads as I found out recently from my local Dorchester computer repair company.

Apparently the best way for boot sector virus removal is to make a backup “clean” disk. This disk loads your computer when you stick it in the drive, so it is not loading from the boot sector, which has been contaminated by a virus. This way, you can load your computer virus free, and then clean the virus off of it.

Boot sector virus removal isn’t the only protection you might need on your computer. You need spyware removal as well. Spyware is a little like viruses, but much less harmful.

When you visit certain websites with spam, they will put a program in your web browser which keeps track of your information and sends it back to them. It follows what websites you go to, what you buy, etc., and uses it to market things to you.

It also slows down your computer and opens pop-up windows which you don’t want to see repeatedly, which is very distracting and annoying. Some adware can even divert your web browser, sending you to websites you don’t want to see, and stopping you from getting to the ones which you are trying to get to.

It is also a copier and a fax machine. The Dell Toner Cartridge is great, too.

The software and drivers support a network for printing and scanning this definitely makes the value of this Dell 1600n printer. Dell has taken the most wanted features of an all in one device and put them together into one low priced unit. The specs and features are perfect for use in a home office; it has a good look to it, and works quite well. The Dell 1600n printer toner is equivalent in price to most printer ink, and can be purchased in black and white or color. It also lasts longer than a regular ink cartridge.

The Dell 1600n features are well thought out and it is made to be easily used, things like the buttons that are used to set up the printer settings and run commands are easy to see, insightful, and you do not have to scroll through a menu.

The Dell 1600n has a fairly small footprint, and is quite light weight for all that it has included in it. There is a 250 sheet paper drawer at the bottom of the printer, and you can also purchase a second paper drawer to double the amount of paper that can be placed in it. The Dell 1600n looks very neat sitting in a home office. The fax is right there at the fingertips and easy to use.

This printer can put copies of 2 or 4 source documents on one sheet of paper, or can turn a single sheet into 3 sheets by 3 sheet blow-ups by clicking one button. This option is very useful and is a nice addition to the capabilities of this all in one. The set up of different formats and paper sizes has been made to be easy to understand.

The Dell 1600n has a built in web server which uses standard html and permits all configurations that you could do via USB or via front panel. The printer will automatically apply the correct interpretation for the arriving data. The print engine is rated at 22 ppm; the output by and large is quite fast. The 1600n comes with 32MB of memory and can be increased to a maximum of 160MB.

The scanner and output are fast, and only take around 10 seconds from pressing the copy button to the first copy, and under 5 seconds for the next copy. You need no warm up time when you fire up this computer. Once you scan a document, you can either save it to the computer as a file, or to e-mail, to an optical character recognition program, or as an image.

All in all, the Dell 1600n multifunction printer is a good value for the money. It can do most of the office tasks at the push of a button. The networking capabilities make it invaluable in a small office or home office. It can sit neatly in a small area because of the small footprint. The speed at which it does the tasks intended is an asset to any office setting. The use of a 1600n Toner rather than ink makes it a work horse for copy and print jobs.
